Healthcare Development: Governor Bago Accelerates Construction of 57 Primary Health Centers in Niger State

In a strategic effort to improve rural healthcare delivery and expand access to essential medical services, the Niger State Government is simultaneously building 57 Level 2 Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs) in various local communities.
This initiative aligns with Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s broader infrastructure development efforts and coincides with increased political activity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Abdulberqy Usman Ebbo, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Digital Media and Communication, highlighted the ongoing projects in an official statement from Minna, the state capital.
A major project emphasized was the development of a modern Level 2 PHC in Landzun, Bida Local Government Area. This facility aims to close healthcare gaps by offering quality, affordable medical services close to rural residents.
The Landzun center, along with the 56 other health facilities, will be equipped with essential modern utilities and medical infrastructure, including:
– 24-hour electricity and reliable clean water supply
– Operating theater and dedicated staff quarters to support continuous medical services
– On-site pharmacy, consultation rooms, and key diagnostic tools
“This project is a testament to Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s commitment to modernizing healthcare infrastructure across the state,” Ebbo stated. “Decentralizing these facilities ensures that vital medical services reach grassroots communities, fostering effective, reliable, and efficient healthcare delivery.”
