GOV BAGO COMMISERATES WITH EMIR OF KONTAGORA OVER PASSING OF AJIYAN KONTAGORA
Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, Alhaji Muhammad Barau Mu’azu II, following the death of the Ajiyan Kontagora, Alhaji Mamman Ajiya.
In an official condolence message, Governor Bago expressed deep sadness over the traditional leader’s demise, describing it as a painful loss to the entire Emirate. He encouraged the Emir to remain strong and resilient, noting that the tragic event comes as a heavy blow, especially following the loss of another prominent traditional title holder within the same week.
The Governor extended his sympathies to the Kontagora Emirate Council, the immediate family of the deceased, and the people of Kontagora. He commended the late Ajiyan Kontagora for living a life filled with wisdom and for his invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the region.
Governor Bago urged the grieving family to stay firm in their faith, take solace in God, and continue to offer prayers for the repose of the late title holder’s soul. He prayed that Almighty Allah in His infinite mercy forgives the shortcomings of the deceased, grants him Aljannat Firdausi, and provides the Emirate with the fortitude to bear the loss.
The late Ajiyan Kontagora, Alhaji Mamman Ajiya, passed away after a prolonged illness.
