The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Niger State Area Unit, has successfully rounded off its 67th Islamic Vacation Course (IVC) and 18th Academic Week, ending with a strong charge to youth to step up as ethical, accountable leaders in nation-building.
The week-long gathering took place from August 24 to 30, 2026, at the Police Secondary School in Minna. It drew Muslim students, MSSN officials, instructors, and delegates from across the state’s 17 Area Councils for intensive spiritual development, academic learning, and leadership development.
Operating under the theme “Amana of Leadership: Building a Generation for Responsible Leadership and Nation Building,” the event featured a series of lectures and interactive sessions designed to instill core moral values and practical skills in the next generation.
Delivering the keynote address, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), Professor Salisu Shehu, emphasized that leadership is a sacred trust (Amana). He urged participants to approach leadership roles with unwavering integrity, selflessness, and a commitment to public service.
In his remarks, the Ameer of the MSSN Niger State Area Unit, Mahmud Lawal Murshid, highlighted that the annual programme remains a cornerstone of the organization’s mission to rear disciplined, knowledgeable youth capable of driving positive change in Niger State and Nigeria at large.
Attending students praised the organizers, noting that the week provided a unique platform for personal growth, skill acquisition, and cross-council networking.
The event concluded with a closing ceremony where outstanding participants were presented with certificates and prizes in recognition of their active involvement and commitment throughout the week.
