Mallam Muhammad Nami Gains Key Support Following High-Level Consultation with Umar Nasko

Ahead of the 2027 Niger State gubernatorial election, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mallam Muhammad Nami, has secured the backing of veteran politician and elder statesman Hon. Umar Mohammed Nasko, Jarman Kontagora.
The political development followed a high-level consultative visit by Mallam Nami to Hon. Nasko’s residence in Abuja. The visit forms part of Nami’s broader, state-wide strategic engagement initiative designed to consult key stakeholders, gather counsel, and build a unified coalition aimed at driving socioeconomic development in Niger State.
Speaking during the meeting, Mallam Nami described Hon. Nasko—a former gubernatorial candidate in the 2015 and 2019 elections—as a principled leader whose institutional knowledge and political insight remain critical to steering Niger State toward economic recovery and good governance.
”Hon. Umar Nasko represents a reservoir of political experience and integrity. His guidance is invaluable as we chart a collective vision to restore Niger State to its preeminent position in the region and across the nation,” Nami stated.
In his response, Hon. Nasko commended Mallam Nami for his proactive consultation efforts and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the PDP candidate’s campaign through advisory support and sustained mentorship.
Nasko emphasized the importance of consultative leadership, expressing confidence in Nami’s vision to address the state’s ongoing development challenges.
