In a major bid to deepen grassroots engagement and reinforce key political alliances, the Special Adviser to Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago on Political Matters for Niger South (Zone A), Hon. Alhaji Yahaya Hussaini Emilugi, has officially commenced a familiarisation tour across the zone.
The outreach tour—designed to bridge governance with community and party structures—began with a visit to Katcha Local Government Area, where the Special Adviser paid a courtesy call on the Sheshi of Katcha, Alhaji Baba Adamu Umar, and a council of village heads.
Speaking during the royal audience, Emilugi conveyed Governor Bago’s appreciation to the traditional institutions for maintaining peace and backing state policies. He reassured the traditional rulers that the current administration remains dedicated to equitable development across every corner of Niger State.
Responding on behalf of the traditional institution, the Sheshi of Katcha, Alhaji Baba Adamu Umar, reaffirmed the royal council’s commitment to supporting state government initiatives. Echoing the monarch’s sentiments, Alhaji Umar Adamu, the Village Head of Kataeregi and Chairman of the Katcha Forum of Village Heads, pledged the complete loyalty of all community leaders in the LGA to Governor Bago’s transformation agenda.
Moving the tour to Agaie Local Government Area, Emilugi was received by the Council Chairman, Hon. Halidu Muhammad Sayuti, along with leaders and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Addressing party faithful, Emilugi praised their dedication and reiterated the Governor’s commitment to driving socio-economic advancement across the region.
The delegation concluded its initial leg in Lapai Local Government Area, where they were hosted by Alhaji Aliyu Mukun Soje Lapai alongside APC stakeholders and grassroots supporters. Emilugi described the engagements as vital tools for solidifying party unity, encouraging members to remain steadfast in their commitment to the APC leadership.
